Code Enforcement Inspector
Department of Community Services
One Civic Square
Carmel, Indiana - USA - 46032
Dear Mr. Ligget,
We would like to advise you to stop the harassment of Gregory & Michelle McClain.
Lawrence v Texas,
539 U.S. 558 (2003)If you do not know, the state cannot justify its intrusion into the personal and private life of the individual. The U. S. Supreme Court’s decision is above any city’s ordinance, state and federal laws.
Chickens are very smart animal. They are smarter than dogs and cats, and it looks like they are smarter than any Carmel politicians, managers and leaders.
The City of Carmel’s action is arbitrary; the government must present some evidence to justify its decisions when it interferes with a citizen's liberty. Are chickens terrorists? Are chickens engaged in criminal activities?
In many communities, leaders are helping citizens raise chickens in their backyards.
The Fourteenth Amendment (Amendment XIV) to the United States Constitution
Again, the City of Carmel is depriving Gregory & Michelle McClain of life, liberty, and violating their constitutional rights.
If the city will not stop this illegal act, remedies should be sought in Federal Court.
Truly,
Walfredo de Freitas
